Here is a simple recipe for a tasty smoothie that is delicious, easy to make, and will not destroy any weight loss plan you are on. For the WW's plan it includes your 2 sources of dairy, two fruit, and a daily fat. Here are your needed ingredients:
* Low fat milk or soy milk if you prefer (vanilla flavor will add an extra sweetness to the smoothie without a load of calories. (2 points)
*one cup of Weight Watchers yogurt in a flavor similar to the chosen fruits.(1 point)
* 3/4 a cup of Wyman's fresh frozen fruit in mixed berries (0 point- yes that is right!)
* one banana (one point)
**Optional ingredients: protein powder (point: depends on product/amount) , olive oil (daily fat intake- 1 point)
Total Value: Straight forward without additional ingredients listed above 4 points. With oil: 5 points. With protein powder: You must calculate the points according to the amount used and the back nutritional info on the container since no protein powder is created equal.
* This recipe creates about 20 oz of smoothie...just an estimate...so you can tweak the recipe to get a smaller or larger batch. I drank the whole recipe slowly as I worked on the computer and it kept me full for hours.
The directions: In a blender mix all of the above ingredients together and that's it! So simple! The frozen berries is a great substitute than adding ice because it chills the ingredients and saves the blades in your blender: no more ice chips! YAY! The flavored yogurt adds an extra boost in flavor and texture. Enjoy!
